Repeater Sites

Every 70km or so, fibre networks need to be repeated (regenerated) to reduce degradation and lower capacities. All the networks will have these sites dotted along the route of their network.

These usually contain rackspace for line termination equipment, backup batteries and air conditioning. Sometime’s, these sites will be built into regional hubs or co-located within power substation sites.
