TANet: Bristol

In 1997, TANet Ltd installed equipment in Railway Arch 109, Oxford Street, St.Philips, Bristol, as part of their UK wide Network.

This new network was created by leasing fibres from Racal Telecom, which used the largest private telecoms network in Britain, consisting of 17,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables linking every major city together.

Global Crossing bought Racal Telecom in 1999 for $1.6 billion while TANet Ltd later became Fibernet who was then bought out by Global Crossing in 2006 and then by CentruryLink.
